Today I received my results for the Live Sound module, this is the module I was most apprehensive about. We had already as a group completed the Practical Test which we scored 90%, this was weighted as 30% of the mark overall. The Practical Test involved us setting up a live sound system to a required specification set by our lecturer, we only got the specification at the start of the test so not pressure….!! The written part of the test which counted as the other 70% was for us individually to design and cost a specification for a given live venue. This involved costing a complete system from speakers to cables and flight cases to test equipment. I felt a bit under pressure to complete this as we also had to complete a written assessment of our reasoning and rationale for the selection of equipment in 1400 words give or take 10%. I was surprised yet again that overall I got 80% which surpassed my expectations completely.
